High Latency to Proxmox VMs

We are facing high latency in Proxmox VMs even to the loopback IP also high latency
We are using Ubuntu 22 as VM OS
wondering about high latency in loopback IP also we noticed the latency from host machine is look better when compared to VM ,PFA

when you are talking about "loopback ip", do you mean "interface lo" ???

where is the ip 10.200.10.101 ?

what is the source ip of vm and host ? (same subnet ?)

yes interface lo
10.200.10.101 is a physical machine, not a VM
All are in same network and subnet.

can you test with "mtr" command,

"mtr -r -c 10 10.200.10.101" on both host && vm ?

Hi, I am attaching 3 screenshot.
1) mtr from proxmox VM
2) mtr from proxmox host
3) mtr from a physical machine (no hypervisor installed) -- giving better response

vm vs host difference in mtr dont seem soo huge.

Can you try with 'ping -f" during 1min to be sure ?

mmmm... proxmox-host seem quite unstable too.

can you really send a "ping -f" (flood), for 1 minute, just to see with a lot more ping.

what is your physical nic model ?

mmmm, seem that you have some loss. Not big, but you should have 0 loss.

bad cable ? bad switch port ? Can you try another cable/switch port to see if you don't have loss anymore ?

Thank you for the update.

We have 4 Proxmox hosts are connect to same switch and all host/VMs having similar issue.

We have another physical machine running Linux OS (no hypervisor) and is connected to same switch and is look very stable.

however, I will check any issue with cables.

Any completability issue with Bare-metal ? we are running Proxmox on HPE Gen10+ servers.
