I have noticed a few times when logging into my proxmox server the cpu spikes like crazy for no reason and doesn't stop when I disconnect and only stops after a reboot. I only have and unraid vm on the server(for some reason the unraid shows a lil bump in cpu usage but not even close to the cpu usage the host has, also I should note that unraid is basically running at idle with only my reverse proxy and authentik running.

I have also been suffering from this, finally realized the cpu load drops from 99.99 on all 12 threads to 1% as soon as I close VScode and break the connection.

Need to do some more experimenting to see if it is a plugging or the base program but I suspect this is a vscode bug more than a proxmox issue.

Edit: also possibly a vscode memory leak, as the ram usage slowly climbs the entire time

What about just looking at the processes what run there and report back? Without information, we can only look into our crystal ball.

Easiest way is to use htop (if not installed apt install htop), sort by CPU usage and look at the process.
