Hi folks,

I got myself a new machine that I'd like to run on PVE. It's headless and I was wondering if it's possible to install PVE directly on target. So either via SSH, with XForwarding if necessary, or via web-interface, if that is running during the installation.
Alternatively I'd be content with configuring the installation upfront and have it run unsupervised.
A quick search in forums and Wiki gave no obvious results.

What do you mean headless?
It should have a video out or IPMI ay very least.
You can plug a cheap video card in it do the install and than take the card out. Or do install via ipmi.
My home server has video but I do a lot of thing via Ipmi. Just too lazy to go to the basement every time.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't think IPMI is available, as this is consumer hardware. I'll look into the Debian netinst to see if it supports unsupervised install.

You still need to interact with install for a few answers here and there.
A fully unattended setup is possible but you will need something like FOG server and a specially prepared iso.

Guess I'll find a way to termporarily get some graphics for that box. Thanks.
