Guest VM disk write slow

Hi Guys

I have problems any guest both windows or linux, for example in windows server 2008, I copy any folder and paste any destination, transfer rate between 350 kb/s to 1.5/3 mb/s no much! :(

I think the transfer normally between 10 Mb/s to 60 Mb/s aproximate

My virtual hard drives is from VmWare transfered to proxmox.

I created new vm on web, but i transfered disks via Win Scp in /var/lib/vz/imaves/xxx

But in vmware, the speed transfer is very fast and not have problems.

How resolve this slow writing? I have server IBM x3100 M4 with 1 tb hard drive.

Thanks.

Best Regards.

You have to change IDE to Virtio in order to achieve max performance

Follow the following guide:

1. Shutdown VM
2. Add new VirtIO HDD to your server (like a 1gb hdd)
3. Start VM
4. Use the virtio drivers for scsi controllers (install drivers from: http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/WindowsGuestDrivers/Download_Drivers)
5. Shutdown VM
6. Delete new harddisk
7. Change in you config IDE to VirtIO (for initial disk)
8. Start VM again
