Getting the console to work on WAN

hello,
I have an urgent need to have the console working from an "outside" IP.
my system is Proxmox 4.2.5.
As it looks, everything works except the console (on the menu for the server or any of the virtual machines)a pop-up emerge, with host, port and password, I push the connect, but it does not connect
actually nothing happens an in the top of the consolwindows is: Server disconnected (code: 1006)

I can't find anywhere to configure, nor any explanations

do you use a firewall? if yes, check the needed ports on:

you should know (at least) if you use a firewall or not.

if yes, disable it for a short test, then you know that the reason in the firewall config.

I do not use the firewall in Proxmox, so it will probably not be the reason.
the Proxmox webpage works OK from outside, only the "console" function won't work.

What I do not know for sure is, what ports I have to have open for ingoing traffic on my router.

You need to configure your router to redirect the ports.

Even better, use a VPN to connect from WAN.

Need to get the remote console to run over WAN, but

• Web interface: 8006
• pvedaemon (listens only on 127.0.0.1): 85
• SPICE proxy: 3128
• sshd (used for cluster actions): 22
• rpcbind: 111

is not enough, please help, as I can't get to upgrade my servers....

I can by using Firefox browser (on my iMAC) communicate with my Proxmox.
I can't use Safari

if its working on firefox, it should also work on safari.

make sure that you set the https certificate on safari to always trust.
