[SOLVED] Fresh VE 5.3 installation doesn't work with Ubuntu 18.04

Hi,
just installed fresh Proxmox VE 5.3, made NFS ISO storage which has debian 9 and ubuntu 18.04 LTS .iso images.

Debian installation went ok, i can login via remote SSH , but with Ubuntu 18 installation stucks with "Network connections", see attached image.

Is Ubuntu 18 supported ?

If you have no DHCP server in your network, you will not get an address.

Ubuntu is fully supported.

So i can't install Ubuntu18 with Proxmox without DHCP server ?

I choose IPv4 Manual Method, installation starts but then it goes back to "Network configuration timed out", see attached image.

An to remind, Debian 9 installation went ok, network was working.

Of course, Ubuntu installation works without any problem.

i installed Ubuntu 16.04-LTS without any problems.

But with Ubuntu 18.04-LTS it doesn't go thru installation, please try yourself, download:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/18.04/ubuntu-18.04.2-live-server-amd64.iso

and try to install that to Proxmox 5.3 VE, it stucks in "Network Connections".

Just tested it with Ubuntu 18.04.2 and it works for me, just to make clear for anyone else who's reading this that this is not a general problem.

Could you send me e.g. your email address so i can give you login information to this proxmox and you can try it yourself ?

We are searching a replacement for Xenservers.

Does the Ubuntu installation proceed if you leave the network unconfigured? Then you can in the installed system examine why network has problems.

Terve Tapio, Problem solved.

Problem was that I downloaded .iso server image from http://releases.ubuntu.com/18.04/ which was the first choice with google search for "ubuntu 18.04 download", but it gives you ubuntu-18.04.2-live-server-amd64.iso which doesn't go thru network part. "live" is problem i think.

I find another way to download ubuntu-18.04.1-server-amd64.iso , and that installation wen't without any problems...

I can confirm this point. Ubuntu-18.04.2-live-server-amd64.iso doesn't work.
Ubuntu 18.04.1 works well.

I got mine working. Using "ubuntu-18.04.2-server-amd64.iso" and setting network model to "Intel E1000" in the "Create VM" wizard.
