Hello folks

Installed a fresh Proxmox, but suggested network configs doesnt seem to work.
I cannot reach GUI of proxmox from remote server, also tried playing around network configs a lot by
modifying /etc/network/interfaces. but nothing seem to work.
Proxmox is not able to ping its own gateway, which indicates something wrong with internal network configs, but cannot find where.

Attached are the network config files. please review

please assist.

Thank you

Have you tried running ifup eno1 vmbr0? Your screenshots indicate that both interfaces are down.

hi,

* is PVE running on bare-metal or in a nested virtualization setup under a different hypervisor?

I cannot reach GUI of proxmox from remote server
* is it possible that you already used this IP address on another machine? (192.168.100.2)
* is the pveproxy service running? check with ss -antlp | grep 8006

* are you sure these are the correct ranges for the network you're on?
* it also looks like your network interfaces are in DOWN state.

Hi Oguz, Its a Baremetal Install

Nope its not the case. IP only on this machine.

Yes, please refer the attchment

Earlier i was using 192.***/24 private IP range, which was automatically taken during installation. After it didnt work, i configured the same network from my router and other devices on network(10.0.*.*/24). But still doesnt work.

Yes, i tried bringing them up by ifup/ifdown, and rebooting several times, but link doesnt come up.

Also, I have an external USB wifi adaptor for connectivity, and NOT the cabled connection, if that might be a probelm

Kindly advise where am i wrong.

can you show us the network configuration: cat /etc/network/interfaces

(also it would be better if you could post the outputs of the commands in code tags here, instead of screenshots)

and please post the output from ip a && ip r on your PVE node too :)

edit: generally we recommend against using WLAN adapters [0] on the node

Hi Oguz,

I fixed the problem. The problem was my external wifi adapter. As soon as i plugged the wire in, and Boom..... everything worked.
But thank you for your awesome and prompt support. It was no less than an enterprise level support function.

Cheers.
