Hey guys,
So I have a spare desktop that I have been using as a Windows Home Server box for a while now but the software is up and I was thinking about repurposing it. I was thinking about loading Proxmox on to it so I could explore around with some other OS but first I have a few questions. How exactly would the hard drive storage work? So let’s say I install WHS again. I have a 1.5tb with movies, music and backups and another clean 1tb drive. Would I have to install both discs, wiping both empty and dish out the space when I install WHS? Or can I install Proxmox and WHS on the 1tb disc and just use the 1.5tb disc as storage within the WHS install. So keep the 1.5tb separate and only let the WHS use it? Also since I have the 1.5tb filled with movies, music and backups would I have to reformate it if I just added in on later?
I have only played around with a few live distro of Linux before so I am noob on that side of things.
Thanks!

Hi,
proxmox use only the first hdd during installation (and erase thre whole content!).
To be on the safe side, you should detach you second hdd first.
On the pve-system you can create virtual guest - they images are stored on the local disk (you can also use external storage).
You are also able to use the second disk as disk for a vm - but you must do this by editing the config-file (easy job).
