Recently did a fresh install of proxmox 6.4 since the device I'm using has issues with 7.2 and 7.3 installation (gets stuck at DHCP), 6.4 installed perfectly fine without issue but after updating I'm unable to boot past kernal version "pve-kernel-5.4.203-1-pve: 5.4.203-1". Whenever I try to boot past this version I get to "Initial RAM disk" then it spits out a bunch of data then hangs endlessly. I attempted this install original on ZFS on root but went down to single disk no ZFS and encountering the same error.

I have attempted with the below versions that all fail to boot:
  • pve-kernel-5.15.83-1-pve: 5.15.83-1
  • pve-kernel-6.1.0-1-pve: 6.1.0-1

pveversion -v output

I have exactly the same problem. With kernel 5.4 proxmox 7 boots, but the VMs doesnt work.
My server is Dell R740xd, I updated bios and idrac modules to last version, as suggested in another thread.

Any new ideas? Thanks!
