@Falk R. Ich finde da drin nichts was aussagekräftig wäre. Vielleicht kannst Du was erkennen.
Sieht für mich eher so aus, als ob der USB Adapter kein SMART kann.
smartctl -a /dev/sdc zeigt dir, ob er SMART kann oder nicht.
 
BeMei wollte Informationen über die SSD haben. Die kann man mit hdparm oder smartctl auslesen.
hdparm hat keine gewinnbringenden Infos zur Festplatte angezeigt.

Meine Vermutung ist, dass es nicht an der Festplatte liegt, die keine sinnvollen Informationen hinterlegt hat, wie es (nur) bei billigen Chinakracher-SSDs der Fall ist, sondern am USB-Adapter liegt, der die Werte nicht auslesen kann.

smartctl zeigt hier dann eine recht spezifische Fehlermeldung an, dass die Werte nicht ermittelt werden konnten, wenn die Fehlerursache am USB-Adapter liegt.

Auch mit dem Billigsten USB Adapter kannst du mit hdparm das Modell auslesen, wenn der Hersteller da etwas Sinnvolles hinterlegt hat. Smartctl zeigt dir nur den Zustand an, aber nicht was für ein Modell das ist. Das einige Controller keine Smartwerte weitergeben, ist jetzt aber auch nix neues und eher bei höherpreisigen Modellen so, denn da greift der Adapter die Informationen ab um z.B. eine LED mit dem Zustand zu steuern.

Sorry, deiner Aussage muss ich widersprechen! SMARTCTL zeigt i.d.R. sehr hilfreiche Infos an. Mehr als HDPARM jedenfalls.

WTF? Steht doch oben im Output. Dir kann man leider nicht helfen.
Bei ner NVMe bekommst du wenigstens ein paar Infos. Aber die vielen SATA und SAS Devices haben da gar nix.
 
Erstmal danke für die hilfreichen Tips und Hinweise, gerade auch zum Thema Enterprise SSD.

Die beiden White Label SSD (smartctl Ergebnis siehe unten) werde ich in einer Windows Arbeitsstation einsetzen. Für meinen Server werde ich mir 2 Enterprise SSD holen, die mit ZFS formatieren und dort die VM parken.

Die beiden 8TB Platten werde ich ins NAS reinpacken und dort zwei alte 4TB ersetzen. Als Backup müssen die nicht viel aushalten.

Nur für Proxmox habe ich mich noch nicht entschieden. Eventuell zwei zusätzliche kleine Enterprise SSD mit ZFS und darauf packen?

... wobei ich hier gestehen muss das ich als nicht admin nicht wirklich weiß welche Werte hier wichtig sind und wo drauf ich achten müsste.

Interessanterweise zeigt Proxmox für die Enterprise SSD ein Verschleiß von 0%. Also müsste die total ok sein, oder?

Solange Number of Reported Uncorrectable Errors auf 0 bleibt ist das auch ein gutes Zeichen. Wenn die Errors hoch gehen, fällt die Disk dann schnell aus.
