Tried setting up a Windows 10 VM and continue to get this error.

Keyboard layout: default
memory 4.25 GiB
Processors 4 (2 sockets, 2 cores)
display: default
cd/dvd :local:iso/windows.iso,media=cdrom,size4050240K
cd/dvd: local:iso/virtio-win-0.1.141.iso,media:cdrom,size209208k
hardisk(virtio0): local-lvm:vm101-disk-0, size 62gb
network device (net0): virtio=02:12:31:20:43:19, bridge-cmbr0

Proxmox is 5.3-9 on a dell xps.
I have a home assistant vm running fine on it.

So it fails when I choose operating system type windows. should I be choosing linux? this doesn't make sense followed 3 different guides and failed everytime.

Please post the full config.

> qm config VMID

Here is mine, showing the recommended settings and virtio-iso for win10/win2016/win2019:

Sorry, my fault. win10 is the right setting so your config is ok and should work (I corrected my post above)

Which physical CPU do you have in your XPS?

Its a dell xps 8300 running an Intel i7-2600. I have gotten it working using Linux as the OS type. Will this affect performance?
