Error message when mounting big vm disks on single file restore

Hello dear Proxmox community,

We are evaluativng the Proxmox Backup Server for us at the moment, but we are running into an issue at the moment.

When we try to do a single file restore for a Windows Server 2022 VM with larger disks (>650 GB) we get the following error message while trying to browse threw the disk.
mounting 'drive-virtio2.img.fidx/part/2' failed: all mounts failed or no supported file system (400)

Does anyone of you have the same issues?

We are using Version 4.1.6 at the moment.

Hi @lumberg, please check disk manager and look for a non-standard / dynamic disk or partition.

I had this exact issue on Windows server 2016 and it turns out one of my partitions was dynamic, after making a new virtual disk with a standard partition and migrating all data to it I was able to delete the dynamic disk and I was able to mount my backups for file level restore.

Hi @tecnic15 ,

thank you for you hint, but in our case we do not use dynamic disks.
