I'm running into an installation error trying to install RHEL 10 on 8.4. I did see the warning about the need to x86-64-v3 support. I am using a 12th gen Intel i5 12500t. I assumed a fairly recent Intel CPU would fully support the v3 requirements. Is there anything in the BIOS configuration that could be limiting the v3 support in Proxmox?

Hi Markus,
I didn't do anything except try to install the RHEL10 image. If this is pilot error I apologize, I am pretty green at proxmox - despite running 7.x for a couple years I don't have much experience with nuances of newer features, etc. Is this set on the VM prior to the installation in the VM properties?

Cheers,
-Scott

Have you set your VM's CPU to x86-64-v3?
Thanks for the reply. That's all I needed - once I looked at the hardware settings I saw it had defaulted to x86-64-v2. Since I never installed a VM requiring the newer specs I didn't realize I might need to go the CPU specs in hardware and change to x86-64-v3. Appears to be booting fine now with Rocky 10 iso. Thanks for the assistance!
Cheers,
-Scott
