I'm sorry if this is posted somewhere else, maybe my searching skills need polished.

PVE 7.2-11

What email notifications are supposed to be sent out? The only notifications that I receive are when backups run. Are there other notifications and if so how do I configure them? I do successfully receive the backup jobs' emails and test email from all 3 nodes, but those are the only emails I ever receive. Below are just things that sound like they could be useful and not sure if possible.
  • If a node goes down/comes back online
  • Migration success/failures
  • VM Restores
  • High RAM/CPU usage
  • Updates
  • Ceph Issues
  • Time Sync Issues

Thanks,
Ryan

PVE isn't great at monitoring. I perfer to install a monitoring agent and then let the monitoring software send me mails when there is a problem.

For ZFS there would be the zfs-zed package that could send mails when a pool fails. Maybe there is something similar for ceph.

  • ZFS
  • SMART

@Dunuin & @Neobin - Thanks for the information. I was thinking I was missing something obvious. I will look into a separate monitoring tool for node connectivity as that is my main concern.
