edit raw files without starting the VM

basically yes.
 
My VMs are KVM based and the disk format is RAW file, I'm not using OpenVZ
 
one quick way could be boot the vm from a virtual iso livecd, and access the disks from there...
another could be mounting those raw files as devices, but i don't know how...

Which live OS you suggest? consider I need to edit files so read only file system is not OK.
No one knows a quicker way?
 
i usually use the latest ubuntu desktop, which automatically mounts most fs around, including ntfs, rw.
used also sysresccd, though.
