agree 100%, and in homelab you are looked own on if you actually bought your hardware new, smh
still they are better locations than the truenas forums, reddit and discord where they just want to tell you you are stupid for wanting to try something, whereas here it is more "well that seems odd and dangerous, but hey lets help you try and see how you get on / if it blows up in yor face" - thats how we got the thunderbolt mesh support and in the process helped all linux kernels work better with all sorts of thunderbolt scenarios - it all started here
