Hello,

I have a VM running a Window Server (2022 if I'm not wrong) and I was told today that it's unreachable. Upon opening the console, the message "Display output is not active" is present on the console. What happened? Tried to reboot the VM, migrate it to a different host, etc.
VM's config:

Code:
agent: 1
balloon: 0
bios: ovmf
boot: order=scsi0;ide0;net0
cores: 2
cpu: x86-64-v2-AES
efidisk0: shared-iscsi:vm-199-disk-0,efitype=4m,pre-enrolled-keys=1,size=528K
ide0: none,media=cdrom
ide2: none,media=cdrom
machine: pc-q35-8.1
memory: 8192
meta: creation-qemu=8.1.5,ctime=1737011708
name: zr-ad-01
net0: virtio=BC:24:11:79:A5:1B,bridge=vmbr0,tag=4
numa: 0
ostype: win11
scsi0: shared-iscsi:vm-199-disk-1,iothread=1,size=100G
scsihw: virtio-scsi-single
smbios1: uuid=139f04d7-e941-48f5-8fde-06ce434e7861
sockets: 1
tpmstate0: shared-iscsi:vm-199-disk-2,size=4M,version=v2.0
vga: virtio,memory=256
vmgenid: e44d947b-dca9-4c39-adc1-663acf0ae7d6
No changes on the VM config were done recently. I checked the backups (from 3 days ago, when the machine was 100% working), it matches perfectly with the current config.

Any info would help.

Thank you!

The EFI disk was corrupted somehow. Deleting it and creating a new one (without enrolling preexisting keys) did the trick.

I was just about to suggest same.

Anyway thanks for coming back to give solution, not every user does that, & this deprives others of useful info.

I believe this issue can be marked as Solved.
At the top of the thread, choose the Edit thread button, then from the (no prefix) dropdown choose Solved.
