Disable portmapper - rpcbind : direct map nfs will work ?

Hi
I would like to know as, having the service portmapper / rpcbind active, we can list and search network directly for any nfs drive. But if we set directly the mapped drive into nfs and open the port 111 : is the nfs drive still can work or we absolutely need rpcbind to be active for that ?

I believe that at this time proxmox requires rpcbind as it uses rpcinfo for the healthcheck of NFS storage.
