Directory Store on CephFS (EC Pool)

Hi Guys,

I have managed to make a EC Pool and use CephFS instead of RBD.
The idea is to mount a directory inside of the cephFS and to make this directory as shared (as its on cephfs)

This works and we can make qcow2 images on top of this. so you basically get the benefits of a EC Pool and also the flexibility of a directory store with qcow2 images.

working for me and performance is good too.

Any thoughts on this ?

Hi,

I tried this. Proxmox version 7.3-4 with Ceph 17.2.5
This works and it looks like it works great.

It works exactly as you described it, although I would prefer to have ability to set CephFS as disk images location without the folder.

Performance looks better to me. Actually much better.
tom from Proxmox team said that it doesn't make sense here, but everything is more responsive.

Hopefully this can be another way. Btw I really dislike block storage in general
