Differences between QEMU 2.5 (Ubuntu) and QEMU 2.5 on Proxmox

I'm currently trying to get Android-x86 (www.android-x86.org) running under Proxmox.
I successfully installed 4.4-r3 and got it working without much trouble (on Proxmox 3.4).
However (both on Proxmox 3.4 and Proxmox 4.1) I run into trouble when trying out Android 5.1 and Android 6.0 images. In both cases I can't get after the Grub selection.

Now, I can imagine the first answer will refer to 'contacting the distribution provider', but I am actually wondering which is the differences between Proxmox 4.1 (with QEMU 2.5) and QEMU 2.5 (on Ubuntu) - note, I could even get it booting under QEMU 2.3 on Ubuntu,

you can try to do a "ps -aux" on host, and compare qemu command of proxmox vs ubuntu.

Nevertheless that's 2.4.1. My question revolves basically on whether the QEMU shipped with Proxmox is exactly the same as the standard one, or whether it includes extra patches or fixes that could be causing this behaviour.

It's almost the standard qemu + some patches (backup, snapshot,...) But nothing which should change running vm behaviour. (Only difference could be devices/vcpu configuration, that why I ask you to compare qemu command line)

I got it working. Seems that the issue revolves around the fact that it won't run under a Proxmox node with an AMD CPU (even with the 'Emulation' set to PIII it won't load under an AMD CPU but will under an Intel CPU).
Is this then a Proxmox issue or a Android-x86 specific issue?
