Deploy OpenWrt in a HA cluster setup

Hi,
I want to deploy OpenWrt in a HA cluster setup.
Why?
Remove SPOF for critical components of my IT infrastructure.

Therefore I plan to deploy a Proxmox cluster with HA functionality and run OpenWrt on it.
However, there are some questions:
1. Which virtualisation of OpenWrt is recommended for this setup? VM or CT?
2. Is it recommended to pass-through WAN and LAN NIC?
3. How is PCI pass-through working if VM is migrating to another node in a HA scenario?
