[SOLVED] delivery temporarily suspended

Hey all,

While the Mail Gateway 5.2-6 worked till last time pretty good, now we have the problem, that mails are not delivered any more.
on the filesystem /dev/mapper/pmp-root we have 100% use mounted on /
Then we have many mails in the queue Reason "delivery temporarily suspended; conversation with ... timed out while receiving the initial server greeting".
Is the space too small and what may we delete.
How should we proceed to solve this problem?
Details about your hardware? (memory shortage?)

/run 798M 2%used
/ 79G 100% used
/dev/shm 3,9G 1%used
/run/lock 5M 0%used
/sys/fc/cgroup 3,9G 0%used
/run/user/0 798M 0%used
/ 79G 100% used
a completely full root filesystem is definitely a reason why mail delivery gets suspended.
You need to find out where the diskspace is used - there are quite a few articles on the internet which explain this quite well!

My personal favorite is using `ncdu` (you need to install it with `apt` first and run it as root):
* `ncdu -x /`

That should give you a hint where the most space is used.

Because I turned off the NIC (we have 2 gateways and one is now down) and did not want to modify the DNS I had to worke with 'du'.

This is what I find out. In /var/spool/pmg are about 61GB. What and how should I delete?
I deleted the subfolders of /var/spool/pmg/cluster/3/spam/ and now we have 61GB more. Is there something missing or is this the right way to free up space?
This is the quarantine of your cluster - 61 G is definitely a huge amount!!
If possible I would increase the disk-size - and let the users clean their quarantine.

If you delete the path - you lose quarantined mails
