Assuming i need to use only kvm and not openvz, and i'm not interested in fair scheduler patches from proxmox, can proxmox work without problems on a very recent vanilla kernel (>= 2.6.30) with more updated kvm without too many issue? anyone have tryed to do it?

Maybe some more details:

What i need is just to use a gui to manage kvm machines, no openvz.

I also don't need fair scheduler, as setting cpu affinity and maybe renice is enough for my needs.

With the proxmox kernel i have a lot of problems of guest hangs, not only with virtio, but also on ide block devices and also with e1000 network driver...

So, i want to try to use a more recent kernel/kvm...

It would be nice to have a more recent Kernel (2.6.29 or above) but we decided to go with OpenVZ and therefore its not possible yet. But this is just a matter of time.

Will you be releasing a patch for the NULL pointer vulnerability? I use IPv6 quite extensively...
