Crontab and Updates

Hello,

Will user modifications to crontab be overwritten during Proxmox VE updates? Are there best practices on configuring repeating tasks within Proxmox VE that is outside of cron/crontab?

no.

if you want to set up a regular backup job this can be done on the GUI (where it will be written to /etc/pve/vzdump.cron). otherwise you're free to use the crontab as you like
