Hi, can some please explain how to convert, clone or copy a qcow2 file into a rbd vm ? I get often prepared images which i should start as VM (several ones) for test purpose.till today I ran therefore my VMs on nfs based storage where I can simply exchange the disk images.
But how I can do this on a ceph cluster based rbds? The cluster is not running in or at proxmox but separatly.

if the external ceph cluster is configured as PVE storage, you can simply use qm importdisk or the new import syntax for qm create/set, for example

Code:
qm set XXX -scsiN TARGET_STORAGE:0,import-from=/path/to/qcow2,...

where XXX is the VMID, N is the (in this case, SCSI) disk slot, TARGET_STORAGE is the name of your ceph storage in PVE, and the path is, well, the path ;) if the qcow2 file is stored on a PVE-configured dir-like storage and named like PVE expects for a volume, you can also use import-from=STORAGE:VOLUME (as given by a storage content view/pvesm list STORAGE) ;)
