Hi!
I need help configuring Proxmox which we would like to use in production in the future, currently the environment will be semi-production and I would like to have it properly configured.
I have two T3500 computers from which I would like to create a cluster for learning Proxmox.
One of the computers has a Dell PERC H730 hardware RAID card, the other will have drives connected directly to the motherboard.
How to configure storage on a computer with a RAID card? I would like to have RAID under card control, how to initialize storage in Proxmox? As directory, LVM-Thin, or ZFS?
I take care of backups thanks to Proxmox Backup Server.
I want to avoid the situation I had recently (with VM .qcow2 on hardware RAID connected as directory), where deleting the snapshot took about 1 day and made my VM unavailable.
What is good practice to get this working well? I currently have a VM in .qcow2 format that I would like to keep (as i know i can convert it to raw when i have to use LVM-Thin).
Do I need to have the same storage type on the second T3500 that will be in the cluster as on the first one?
Main goal of 2 machines in a cluster is to have replication function.
I would like help with configuration :)
