Clonezilla does have restore option when in KVM guest?

I'm following the instructions here for using Clonezilla to do a P2V:

http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Migrati...roxmox_VE_.28KVM.29_using_Clonezilla_Live_CDs

I've made a disk image (stored over SSH to a remote machine) from my physical machine. But when I use the Clonezilla CD to boot a KVM guest, it doesn't offer me the "restoredisk" option as shown in this screenshot:

Is there something I need to do to the guest to make it do this?

OK so it looks like the VM needs to have a bus type of IDE and not VIRTIO as I was creating it.

it seems that that clonezilla had not virtio drivers... ?
unlike most modern linux distributions, and livecds...

I always preferred fsarchiver (used from sysresccd livecd), which I find much more easy and flexible...

clonezilla got virtio drivers, at least all version I used recently.

which ISO do you use exactly?

I used clonezilla-live-2.3.1-18-i686-pae.iso

Maybe it wasn't the virtio then. It seemed to work (over an SSH share) after I tried it with SATA instead, but maybe that wasn't relevant.

I still can't get the disk image to load from a USB drive attached to the VM though. Clonezilla either won't see the device or complains /home/partimag is not a mount point. I can mount the drive manually though no problem.
