Hello,
I’ve installed Proxmox on a Cisco UCS B200 M5 blade server. The BIOS and adapter settings are currently configured as shown in the attached file.
Previously, this same blade was running VMware ESXi with all default BIOS settings, and performance was very good. For Proxmox, I adjusted the settings by referring to several documents, but I haven’t found clear guidance on what the optimal BIOS configuration should be for Proxmox.
For those who are already running Proxmox on UCS blades in an enterprise workload environment:
Any insights or recommended configurations would be greatly appreciated.

For those who are already running Proxmox on UCS blades in an enterprise workload environment:
- Are the default Proxmox settings generally enough to achieve maximum performance, or is additional tuning required?
- What BIOS/adapter configurations have you found to be most effective?
- Are there specific tuning options (CPU, memory, power management, virtualization, NUMA, etc.) that work best with Proxmox on Cisco UCS M5 hardware?
- CPU: 48 Intel Xeon Gold 6146 (2 sockets)
Any insights or recommended configurations would be greatly appreciated.
