Choice of ISO for Debian

I'm trying to create VM with Debian. For LXC it's straigtforward - I see LXC template OOTB in UI, just downlooad it and it's done.
But I'm a little confused, which image should I choose for Debian as VM. There are ISO images in https://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst, but there are also OpenStack https://cloud.debian.org/images/cloud/OpenStack/ and generic cloud images: https://cloud.debian.org/images/cloud/buster/20201023-432/
What is the best choice?

That depends on your needs. The net install image (https://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst) will allow you to set up a standard Debian installation. The others you have posted are preconfigured for specific cloud computing platforms, such as openstack and azure. If you are not trying do deploy a cloud platform, I would stick with the net install.

I try to deploy in Proxmox. Is it cloud platform? for me yes, it's just my private cloud
I don't like netinst because installation takes ages and asks many question. I would like to have it working like LXC container - select and go.

you can create a simple debian installation with nothing but ssh server (or anything else you want on it).
after creating it, right click it on the left menu in the gui and select 'Convert to template'

when you want to create another debian vm, you can right click the template and clone it to a fresh vm. (linked clones are faster than full clones) [0]

not possible with the clone method, you'd need to configure manually after the clone.

however you can also use cloud-init [0] with the openstack images

Thank you, that's what I was searching for. It's a pity I cannot do that in as simple way as with lxc, but writing ansible playbook should be easy
