[Ceph PG Autoscaler] Pool has 128 placement groups, should have 128

Hi,

i'm on PVE 7.4-17 with Ceph Pacific (16.2.14). After the upgrade from 16.2.13 this warning appears. Yes i know Pacific ist EOL. Upgrade is already scheduled.



Pool pool1 has 128 placement groups, should have 128

The autoscaler option for the pool is set to "warning". I have another pool with already 512 PGs now and there is the same warning. Is this a bug? I have to say the message was "too many pgs". Maybe 128 is to many but it can't be redcued so the autoscaler says "warning" but the recommendation is the same value as is has at the moment because it can't be reduced to a lower value?

thats pretty funny, but thankfully also benign; its due to rounding differences in the alert.

if its annoying and you dont want to see it again, just place this in ceph.conf:

mon_pg_warn_max_per_osd = 0
