Hi Community!
The recently released Ceph Quincy is now available as preview in the Proxmox repositories and is ready for upgrading or new installation.
Upgrades from Pacific to Quincy:
You can find the upgrade how to here: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Ceph_Pacific_to_Quincy
New Installation of Quincy:
Use the updated ceph installation wizard available with the recently released
We ran and tested the release since a few weeks internally and found no major issue, we'd still recommend that production setups avoid rushing the upgrade, but stay on Ceph Pacific (still supported until mid-2023) until we lift the preview status.
Our further plan is to lift the preview state and provided Quincy as fully supported Ceph version with the upcoming 17.2.1 stable version (expected to be released in the next days), that is once it successfully passed our QA and internal testing for the release itself and also for its Proxmox VE integration.
Please also remember that Ceph 15.2 Octopus is going to be end of life (EOL) after 2022-07 (end of next month), and you should upgrade any Ceph Octopus setups to Ceph Pacific rather sooner than later. See the respective upgrade how-to: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Ceph_Octopus_to_Pacific
