Hey.
Is it possible to manage several proxmox nodes without the whole quorum thing?
My current setup:
Two Dell R210 servers that run 24/7 and has 3-4 VM's each. Both are standalone, not in a cluster.
One Zotac CI323 that also runs 24/7 and has some VM's running light weight stuff.
Also I have a server lab consisting of one Dell R410 and two R710's that I fire up when I feel like experimenting with stuff - they use a ton of power so they are not up 24/7, only when I get the urge to mess around with servers.
I created a cluster on the R410 and added the two R710 - it's awesome to be able to manage the three servers from one web interface, but it's less awesome that I need to fire up the rather noisy R410 when I need to do stuff on one of the R710's due to the whole quorum vote thing.
Yesterday I reinstalled the Zotac, the R410 and the R710's figuring that if I created the cluster on the Zotac (that's always running) and added the other three servers to that cluster I might be able to play with just one of the other servers at a time, but nope, having just the Zotac and one R710 running doesn't allow me to create new VM's on either.
I really like being able to manage several servers from just one web page, but in a setup where I don't keep all my servers running all the time it's a bit annoying having to fire up more servers than I need just to work on one of them due to the quorum voting thing. I don't really need the easy migration and shared storage thing of a cluster setup, I just like to manage my servers from one web page if possible.
Is it possible to manage several servers from the same web page without the quorum thing or can I rig the election process so the always on Zotac always wins, no matter how many other servers are powered on?
