A cctv server is always getting hammered on disk writes. Is it feasible as a VM?
I am torn between baremetal or VM cctv server.
Has anyone run cctv servers in a high density cctv environment (80 cameras split across 3 servers) under proxmox or VMs in general?
--------
As to VM or LXC, what would be the downside of running a production cctv server (unifi video on ubuntu 18.04) in a container.
I understand that the rule of thumb is VM for a production environment. I am curious if the heavy disk writes for a cctv server would destabilise the host kernel over time, if it was run as a container.
