When trying to backup a ext4 filesystem with proxmox-backup-client 0.9.0 an error occurs:

catalog upload error - channel closed
Error: error at "__groupfolders/30/Jahresprogramm": catalog_encode_u64 failed - value >= 2^63

After analyzing the issue I found out that there is a file in directoriy above with a timestamp of Okt 24 1940

I did a workaround in ajusting the timestamp (touch -r ...) and the result was that the backup now runs successfully.

So may be there is a litte bug in the proxmox-backup-client of files with odd timestamps ?

which versions do you run?
can you post the output of pveversion -v and proxmox-backup-client version ?

Hi Fabian,
thx for your search but what does this mean for a backup run. Is it ok not to have a backup because some metadata is out of scope of pxar ?

For this time I had a workaround but that is no real solution for this issue...

Regards

it means that there still is a bug there which requires fixing. if you want to get updates on its status, add yourself to the CC list ;)
