Hi

I'm experiencing an issue with installing a desktop Ubuntu 22.04. I create the VM as usual but after creating it can starting it for the fist time it boots in the installation and gets stuck on this window before it shows the options to try or install ubuntu.

Also viewing the resource monitor of the VM shows strange resources use.

I have attached the specs for the vm.

I am also using the newest ISO image of ubuntu downloaded from the website.

Any help will be apricated.

Hi,
It works on my machine with the settings from your image.
Could it be that it is just taking long? Do you have KVM harware virtualization enabled? You can check this under options -> KVM hardware virtualization. If not, you will have to enable it in your Computer's BIOS.

Also, you might want to change your drive from sata to scsi

Ubuntu LTS 22.04.1 and 20.04 work fine. Please share the actual VM configuration file (from /etc/pve/qemu-server/) and some information about your system and storage. Did other VMs work for you or is this the first one you tried? What is the output of pveversion -v?

I'm running proxmox on a Acer laptop, the specs are in the attached screenshot. So i have tried, LTX container (their Runs), Ubunutu and CentOS servers (they Runs), Windows Descktop (it Runs) the only thing that does not work is Ubuntu Desktop and it only started not working after updating it and installing docker on the proxmox.

Thank you for the assistance.

As you can see by searching this forum "docker on the proxmox" is often problematic. Sorry but I have no experience with it myself.

This looks fine. And it worked finebefore you installed docker?

Your Proxmox is not up-to-date (7.2-11 without subscription). I suggest updating but I don't expect that to fix your problems.
