Hello,

I'm running Proxmox VE 4.4-1, with two 5TB set up as a ZFS Mirror Array.
I have one Vm that has two Virtual Hard drives.

I did a bone headed move by creating a template out of one of my VM's not knowing it would render my VM useless.

Upon my research it says I can just Clone the Template and make a new VM out of it. However when I right click on the template and go to clone, I fill out the name, the VMID. The Target Node: Itself, and under mode I Full Clone, and select my Target Storage which is my local-zfs drive, the Clone button won't light up to allow me to select it.

I have an empty 10tB drive that is setup as an lvm, and when I select that as my Target, the Clone button still won't light up.

I'm Wanting to know if:

1) Can I clone this template or not. either through the webgui or the CLI
2) If I can't, where does proxmox store the VM disk image files, and can I grab them and mount it in another VM and get some of my data back?

Any other suggestions would be appricated. I'm trying to find a way so I don't have to redo my whole VM

please upgrade to the current version, and afterwards, post the output of "pveversion -v" and "qm config VMID" (where VMID is the template you created).

Well I figured it out. When I cloned the VM, I was passing through a HD to it, and apparently when I removed that pass through entry from the config I was able to clone the machine
