Can't boot any FreeBSD 9.X distro on Proxmox 7.1

While booting Live CD or OS from qcow2 image ,

We get a kernel panic error with the following error:

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode

Google is your friend, search for: freebsd panic vesa_mod_event - https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/unable-to-install-freebsd.50236/ - the solution would seem to be "try a newer version of FreeBSD".

Yes, I also tried to boot older FreeBSD in various versions - also other errors but failed. Newest and current work.

I just installed 9.0 without any problems. I just trying to figure out how to ugrade to each distribution ... my FreeBSD days are decades away :-(

after updating the CD 9.0 Version to 9.1 via freebsd-update, it shows the same error as you experienced and no display setting could change that.

If you really have to run such an old version, I think you have to dissect the problem, which is in the update from 9.0 to 9.1 (thousands of patches) and build your own kernel.
