Hi,
I cannot upload any Microsoft Windows evaluation DVD image.
I have tried Windows 7 Enterprise 90 days eval and Windows 2008 Server 180 days eval but the upload goes forever and nothing reach the server.
I can upload any other ISO (e.g. linux distro or even MS CDs or DVDs that I ripped to ISO)

It may be related with the fact that these DVD images have an UDF filesystem but I am not sure about this?

Has anyone had this kind of experience? Is there a way to resolve this issue?

Thanks

if you are on a windows desktop, use winscp to copy the ISO to the local storage.

best solutions is to have NAS where you can store the ISO, access it via NFS. therefore you do not waste any storage on your Proxmox VE host for ISO images.

dietmar, what you suggested worked fine... but it is a workaround.
It would be interesting to know whether this is just happening to me or to others as well and if it is a problem of Proxmox or a problem with the MS ISOs (I bet that this is the problem ;))

tom, thanks for the advice... however:
1 Windows is banned in my house
2 I do have a NAS and I use NFS but anyway I also have plenty of storage
Thanks for the adise anyway...

You guys are great! :p

1 Windows is banned in my house

Wait? this created a paradox then, because the whole purpose of your post is that you need to upload and, consequently, run Windows in VM. VM or Physical, its still windows. So be that rationale, you have broken the house rulles of Windows being banned.
No?

;) I do not use Windows but my customers do so I still have to support it.
This is a quite old post but I still have problems uploading large ISOs via Proxmox web interface. I still have to upload them via SCP.

Yeah. Old thread or not. I still have the same problem. This is in 1.8 and 1.9. I tried using 2.0 but its still too buggy.
I even have issues using SCP. Timeouts all the time.

I am trying 2.0. Initially it was quite unstable but the latest version seems to be OK. I installed it form the ISO then I applied the latest updates which also enables the new HA feature which is great (aptitude update && aptitude full-upgrade && aptitude install resource-agents-pve).
I have no problem uploading via SCP/SSH2. Maybe your problem could be caused by something else. Check that you have enough free space on your HDD and make sure you have the right permissions in place. Also try using a different SCP software. I use gFTP and never had any issue with it.
