Cannot install Windows 10 as Guest VM on Proxmox 2.4

Hi,

I am trying to install Windows 10 Insider preview as a guest VM on Proxmox 2.4. Whatever disk options i give, the installation does not happen. It just gets stuck at Windows logo.

I tried SATA, Virtio and IDE as disk type.

Could someone help me out?

you need to upgrade your proxmox server, it's too old to support last windows version.

(also windows 8 should not work on this version)

do you have tried with pve-kernel 3.10 ?

I'll try it tomorrow with proxmox 4.0 (kernel 3.19), where qemu is 2.4 and have also more hyper-v features enable.

PVE 3.4 with win10 Works stable here.
Make sure you use the latest virtio drivers while installing.

I just installed Win10 stable on Proxmox VE 4.0 beta1, works great - just followed this guide:
