Cannot install v8.3 - no network found

Trying to standup a new node with an iso install of v8.3 and can't get past early part of the installer because it complains there are no NICs found/acceptable.

Read a bunch of threads about realtek issues here. Not sure if that's my issue yet.

To workaround/test, I tried installing Debian 12 per this: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_12_Bookworm information. That works fine until I switch over to the proxmox kernel -- at which time I don't have any network again. Thus, we know the NICs are supported in Debian 12.

So besides any tips on how to get past this, it would be good to understand why Proxmox does not support the same NICs that Debian 12 supports, as it seems based upon that distro?

Thanks.

Here you go...
Code:
lspci | grep -i ether
04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller I226-V (rev 04)
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller I226-V (rev 04)
No USB NICs in use.

Thanks @Kingneutron - not the info I was hoping for, but appreciate you finding that.

If I could ask one more, related question: Know where I can find a list of USB NICs that have shown to be reliable?

Thanks again.

It seems disabling power management helps on these NIC: pcie_port_pm=off in kernel boot
