Hi:
All was working fine (proxmox 1.3 on a ovh.es server)
I dont know why now when i try to enter to proxmox interface i get an internal server error.

I tried to restart apache and i get this error:
Restarting web server: apache2We failed to correctly shutdown apache, so we're now killing all running apache processes. This is almost certainly suboptimal, so please make sure your system is working as you'd expect now! (warning).
... waiting Syntax error on line 20 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/pve.conf:
DocumentRoot must be a directory
failed!

I have edited pve.conf to see what is on line 20 and the directory that appears is:

/usr/share/pve-manager/root
Under /usr/share i dont have any folder called pve-manager :S

But it should be there!

What is the output of

# pveversion -v
-bash: pveversion: command not found
:S
And anyone logged in on server because when someone login i receive a mail.

What is the output of

# dpkg -l pve-manager
No i didn't removed anything :S i only installed fail2ban on proxmox, anything else

Teoutput is:
Code:

Well, so it looks you removed it by accident.

It hard to say how to restore your system, because I do not know what other things are damaged/removed. But you can try

# apt-get install proxmox-ve

No, the problem is that you modify the system, but you do not understand how the package management works. You need to deinstall conflicting packages (remove sendmail, and reinstall postfix). you can use aptitude to do that. Or simply reinstall the system.

Sorry but i cant reinstall :S there is a vps running that i cant stop :S i have installed postfix but after server with apt-get install proxmox-ve try to download the file: ftp://download.proxmox.com/debian/dists/lenny/pve/binary-amd64/pve-manager_1.3-1_all.deb that dont exists on you ftp directory :S

That is an old version, not longer there. Try

ftp://download.proxmox.com/debian/dists/lenny/pve/binary-amd64/pve-manager_1.4-10_all.deb

Seems you need to update your package repository with:

# apt-get update

I have updated and rebooted system, seems to work fine.
I have one question, the server is:
8 x Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
8Gb DDR3
Software raid 0

I only have 1 KVM machine, a Windows server enterprise 64bits, and i want to give them as much ram and cpu as possible (what system requirements needs proxmox to run?) because if server starts using swap goes very slow because the kvm machine is very heavy on hard drive usage.

Now i give to windows 6Gb RAM and 8 CPU Sockets, and i have seen that now appears a new option: Cores/Socket set to 1, is this a good configuration?

Thanks.

Cores/Sockets is only important for licensing issues of the guest OS, mainly windows and databases.

So it makes no difference if you choose 1/8 or 8/1 in terms of performance.
