Can log in via ssh but not via the web console

Hi

I have a proxmox installation that I can ssh to but I cannot log in via the web console. I have reset the root password via ssh with care and am certain I have it right as I can log on to the cli with it. I get a wrong username or password error when I try and log in via the web console.

Has anyone encountered this before?

You select the correct realm (pam)?

Thanks for your reply.
I don't have an option to select a realm, its a stand alone instance of Proxmox. The login screen only has 2 fields, username and password.

I see, you still use 1.x.

Not helpful to this issue but you should upgrade to 2.x as 1.x is EOL already.
