Hello,
Is there a possibility to boot PVE from USB flash or SD card?
I'd like to build a cluster w/o disks.
I plan to use 2 x HP DL380G7 & P2000 vs SAS controllers.

Also think of installing on reliable SSD instead of usb or sd card, but all this is not the best way.

Why?
VMware ESXi uses this type of booting (from SD card).
System disk in PVE will be used for booting only. All other data will be exist from shared storage.

No, this is wrong for the default Proxmox VE setup. But feel free to test.

@Docent
I installed Proxmox VE 2.0 from USB stick on my testserver and I run it from a SSD and make backups on a SD card.
So, all diskless ...
