Hi all,

I am Currently running a Ubuntu 8 container and I need to log the Boot/Init output that can be seen in Proxmox. I have tried syslog and boot log in Ubuntu but neither show this output, anyone know how to do this?

I must have been looking at another container, It appears it's in /var/log/init.log. Is this put there by Proxmox?

I am not sure if I understand your question but the init.log on the web gui, "Configure VM/Logs: Boot/Init".
works well for Ubuntu 8.04 containers.

Yes, I know where it is in the Proxmox gui and then i found the log file in /var/log and am assuming that Proxmox puts it there.

I can see the process (in the container) that Proxmox installs to write to this logfile is called init-logger. Yet this now appears to be unsupported as a package. I have a SolusVM that uses the same openvz container but does not have init-logger.

Anyone know how it could be installed?

Init.logger works on Proxmox VE - if you run third party software you should ask the third party for support.

LOL, Is this not a Forum - the definition been an OPEN discussion?... I am simply asking how init-logger could be installed, if you are you upset that I was inarticulate or mentioned another OpenVZ product perhaps you should explain your 'rules'.
