Hello!
Help, please. Debian starts automatically and everything is fine.
When I start trisquel, I get a black screen, but by press "ctrl + alt + del", and click "Esc" for choose disk boot, click 1 disk, I have grub and normal start OS, but requires such a start-up every time. How to fix it?

I use last update all OS, configuration for OS default

Thank you!

Hi,
did you select the boot disk in the Boot Order setting in the Options tab of your VM?

This is fine. Is there any notable difference between the VM settings of the two VMs? How did you install Trisquel, i.e. partition layout, what file system, anything special?

I use netinstall trisquel CLI + kernel linux-virtual

Settings: "Bus/device: VirtlO Block" for both OS.
I haven't changed anything in general.

I quickly tried installing Trisquel here (with SeaBIOS) and it boots normally for me. There is a black screen at the beginning, but it goes away after 10-20 seconds. Did you use SeaBIOS or OVMF/EFI?

SeaBIOS.
Thank you for your help. I just installed everything new. Here are the settings I chose. The result with the black screen is the same.
Can you send me your installation settings? Could there be a problem with the selection of "Kernel to install"? I chose "linux-virtual", and Software selection chose "OpenSSH secure shell server", and "Trisquel console environment"?
Thank you!

Sorry, I hadn't seen the netinstall image on the website, because it is hidden in the More dropdown, so I assumed Trisquel-Mini was used. Using your setup, I get the same issue. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes a few resets with ctrl+alt+del are needed to reach Grub.

It's not clear if the bug is in the guest kernel/Grub or if it is in SeaBIOS/QEMU/(host kernel?). If I look at the SeaBIOS debug output it looks the same on a working and non-working boot, Booting from Hard Disk... is reached in both cases. Would need to be debugged further, but that is quite involved in such a case.

Thank you for your response!
I also tested today the containers that proxmox provides (devuan 3, devuan 4). My system has a black screen and a fat white bar. Do you also have these problems?

No, did you maybe configure DHCP (for IPv6) without having an appropriate DHCP server in your network? In such cases starting the network will block the boot process.
