Black screen during install, stuck on loading ramdisk during upgrade from Debian

I'm trying to install ProxmoxVE 7.2 on a Dell Optiplex 7040 containg an i7-6700K.

When I try to run the installer, using either UEFI or Legacy Boot, I get the usual GRUB interface, when selecting the installer, I see a black popup saying load linux, loading ramdisk and then the screen goes black and the system becomes unresponsive. The same happens using the nomodeset and dis_ucode_ldr linux options.

The work around this, I tried installing Debian Bullseye first, which works flawlessly, and then installing Proxmox using this guide: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_11_Bullseye

After rebooting with the new kernel, I get the same result, just this time, I keep seeing "loading ramdisk". The same issue occurs with the kernel parameter nomodeset. The system remains completely unresponsive, not reacting to switching TTY sessions or sys reqs.

Does anybody have an idea what could be going on here, how I could troubleshoot or fix this?

I just tried using the installer version 7.1 instead of 7.2, this yields me a "Intel SGX disabled by BIOS" message from the system log. After enabling Intel SGX in the system settings, the message disappears and I just get a black screen and an unresponsive system after "loading ramdisk".
