I have proxmox installed on a server that has 2 Xeon x5570s inside of it each one has 4 cores and 8 threads. My question is how should I configure the CPU hardware for my Windows VMs? should I set the CPU configuration of the VMs as 2 sockets and 1 or 2 cores or should I set it as 1 socket and 2 or 4 cores? What configuration would give the best performance?
