Best practice - Migrate existing cluster NW to SDN ?

This might be a newbie question:

I have a five node cluster which I started with Proxmox 7.1 and subsequently updated to the latest 8.1.11 - I have up to now manually configured each node with it's own network settings (different machines & HW)

Now that SDN is in full swing, is there a simple way to migrate the existing NW setup on each node to the SDN setup ? At least a rule of thumb approach ? Or a way to analyze the existing /etc/network/interfaces and suggest an equivalent SDN config ?!?

Thx in advance

There is no automated way of generating a new SDN config based on your existing network configuration and that is probably a tough ask. How does your current network setup look like, then I could look at it and give a few pointers.

I thought as much - Appreciate the offer, but my config is a bit convoluted! Maybe you can just give general pointers as best practice reference . . . ?!?

Cheers,
Robert

It's hard to say without knowing your current setup, since it really depends ;)

For general information you can consult the documentation that should give you a general idea of the concepts in SDN as well as how they might map to existing network infrastructure [1]

Thanks Stefan! The documentation is a bit high level - but I've watched a few videos online and have the general understanding. I guess it would have been helpful for those of us who have legacy installations and want to "migrate" or convert to the SDN features - and know what is best practice! The documentation refers more to new installations and what is possible, not necessarily how to move from the LocalLan node stuff to SDN in a recommended way - appreciate the quick response!
