Dear all,

i'd like to replace the host system by new hardware. What would be the best way to do this?

1) Create a cluster, add the new machine as node and "Live Migrate" all VMs? Sounds simple to me, but does it work like i would expect it to?
2) Copy PVE installation by hand? What directories have to be copied?
3) Backup/Restore each VM? Puh, hard work for 30 instances.

Thanks for your tipps!

Best regards,
Martin

If you have a running cluster you could simply replace one node after another by migrating all VM's from the node and then shut it down.
After shutdown you can either in-node upgrade of hardware or simply move the disk(s) to the new node and then start that node again.
