Backups failing for non-existing VMs

Hi guys.

I have observed that when deleting VMs through the GUI while having backups scheduled, the VM ID is not automatically removed from the backup job in /etc/pve/jobs.cfg. Consequently, backup failure reports are generated for these non-existent VMs. Although manually removing the entries from /etc/pve/jobs.cfg resolves the issue, it can be a repetitive and unnecessary administrative task. I would appreciate it if you could provide any workarounds or solutions to address this problem and streamline the process, reducing the need for additional administrative work.

Thanks.

When deleting the VM / CT there is a checkbox: 'Purge from job configurations'. That should remove the VM / CT from replication, HA and backup jobs.

When deleting the VMs, these options were selected, and it's possible that a timeout issue occurred on our side. I will closely monitor the situation and inform you promptly if this issue happens again.

Hi,
what's the output of pveversion -v? There was an issue at some point where removal didn't work, but has been fixed for a while now.

That version should include the fix. Can you reproduce the issue with a dummy VM? Still, upgrading to the latest version is always recommended.
